Great venues for partying !

The best spots for your Breton summer getaway

They’ve got all the ingredients for a great evening. Out in the countryside, illuminated by colourful little lights, our guinguettes (open-air taverns if you like) set the mood for summer! Come and enjoy a drink or a spot of local cuisine in the fresh air, listen to the music, dance…and even try your hand at gardening. A roundup of our favourite HQs.

In the blink of an eye

1. The little detour that’s really worth it

La Grange Vadrouille – Plestin-les-Grèves

There’s plenty of room here. Tapas, pitas. DJ sets every Friday evening. Crazy concerts. Between Morlaix and Lannion, La Grange Vadrouille is a venue the way we like them in Brittany! And there’s no two ways about it, you’ll love this far-out farmhouse too. Yoga, vegetable market, themed aperitifs – the place is overflowing with culinary, cultural and intergenerational possibilities. True conviviality. For a weekend away on the north coast, where you can fuel up on good music, great food and human energy… the real deal!

2. Idyllic and informal

La Basse-Cour, Le MeM, Musette – Rennes

Plenty of fresh air, festive or quiet evenings, in the countryside, on the riverside? Enjoy the summer in offbeat mode in the Breton capital’s guinguettes! On a barge, on a former farm, beside the river or a lake, we just love those epicurean settings with welcoming terraces and no fuss! At the Basse-Cour, you party to garden produce and open-air cuisine, a mix of agri and culture. Aperitifs and permaculture workshop ! On the banks of the Vilaine, you settle down on Le MeM’s pallet benches and make the utmost of the venue’s little outdoor stage and its dance floor. As for the La Musette floating bar, it’s the ideal spot to enjoy homemade tapas and local beer, lulled by the lapping water. Immediate boarding for la dolce vita!

In Rennes, all the guinguettes are great ! (Fr.)

3. THE UFO in the grassland

Auberge de Crec’h Bec – Pleumeur-Bodou

A hectare of garden given over to biodiversity, creation, pure relaxation, amazing cultural programming and local products: summer and conviviality set up camp here, at the foot of the Radôme, the huge white ball that watches over your evenings! Open-air theatre, exhibitions, performances, and yoga in the marquee…The list of revelries is a long one in this atypical, highly inventive venue a few kilometres from Lannion. To sample the delights of its aperitif boards and homemade dishes, a reservation is more than advised!

4. A chlorophylled getaway

L’Echappée – Morlaix

Come and sit down over here, on the terrace, with a view of the lush green surroundings and the horses. The DJ will be starting his set at happy hour. You’re in the middle of Morlaix, but in one of its secret corners, in the depths of Coat-Congar’s wood. It’s where Chloé and Corentin have installed tables, barrels and lanterns. From Wednesday to Sunday, it’s palet breton tournaments, brunch-yoga, music and tapas to share. Country-style with a warm welcome!

5. On the river’s edge, near Vitré

Guinguette de Villanfray – Châtillon-en-Vendelais

Near the greenway between Vitré and Fougères, with the 19th-century Château de Villanfray as a backdrop, what could be better than sitting around Léa and Gautier’s vintage caravan! What’s not to like here: the riverbank, the easy-going atmosphere, the shade of the centuries-old trees, the ice creams, and the range of aperitif boards and drinks. From Wednesday to Sunday, it’s the perfect corner of summer to tan your toes, with games on tap, concerts, a creators’ market and much more besides… A dance floor is in the pipeline. Service is top of the range. Real refreshment!

Then it’s off to Vitré, 12 km away, to try out À la Bonheur

La Guinguette de Villanfray

6. Happy-making third-place ambience

La Grande Vallée – Tréhorenteuc

A sit-back-and-relax atmosphere in Brocéliande forest, on a spacious estate ideal for chilling out after an outing to the Arbre d’Or (Golden Tree) or Val sans Retour (Vale of No Return). Music, games wherever you look – all the old favourites outside, billiards, flipper and table football in the great hall. Exhibitions, improv cabarets and night markets. There’s a festive air in the village, especially on concert evenings. And when it comes to dining, a special mention goes to the veggie bowls and the dishes cooked in the wood oven. Conviviality guaranteed – a real treat!
