Youth Hostel in Ouessant
  • The last stop before America, Ouessant is home to a youth hostel ideal for a holiday with family or friends. With these breath-taking landscapes and the gentle pace of island life, you might not want to return to terra firma!

Like a 7-kilometre-long crab’s claw in the Iroise Sea, Ouessant benefits from contrasting landscapes, sculpted by wind, tides and storms. The “wild” north has cliffs and rocky peaks, while the south has gentle reliefs, facing its neighbour, Molène. Nestled at the back of a bay, a stone's throw from the village of Lampaul, the Ouessant youth hostel is ideally situated for discovering the whole island. The rooms accommodate from two to six people, breakfast is included and there is a mini kitchen for your use. “Some people buy crabs and lobsters to cook here,” says Anaik, the lady of the house, with amusement. “The atmosphere is very friendly”. In terms of walks, Anaik will recommend her favourite places depending on what you’re looking for. It takes three or four days on foot or bike to see the whole island!
