The Landes de Cojoux municipal campsite is a great base for exploring this fascinating area at a reasonable cost! The Landes de Cojoux municipal campsite is a great base for exploring this fascinating area at a reasonable cost! The site’s 25 tree-lined plots are close to a 6km trail that has spectacular views over some major ancient monuments. The trail leads to the megalithic site of Saint-Just, one of the most significant European sites in terms of its diversity of monuments, and nearby are the ‘alignements du Moulin’, the ‘Demoiselles de Cojoux’ stones and the ‘allée couverte de Tréal’ (a gallery grave). A marked trail featuring contemporary sculptures and artwork skirts along the Saint-Just and Canut streams leading to the Gannedel marsh, and passes preserved settlements, manor houses and châteaux. There’s rock climbing by the Etang du Val and the lake itself is a great place to fish for pike, pikeperch and trout. There are also horseriding and mountain-biking trails nearby.
