Your holiday really starts in Lorient, when you board the boat for the Isle of Groix, and in 45 minutes you are in a typical Breton house, the Hotel La Marine, in the island's principal village, with its little bar, frequented by the locals, next door. Inside, a cosy lounge with an eclectic mix of furniture and comfortable armchairs. All the rooms are different, with modern comforts complementing the older décor. They look onto the garden or the village and some have a distant view of the sea. In the solid stone-walled restaurant, with its imposing fireplace, you can savour creative local and exotic cuisine.
