La Maison de la Chauve-Souris

At Kernascléden, the Maison de la Chauve-souris (bats discovery centre) is unique in France and entirely dedicated to these creatures of the night. Here you’ll learn all there is to know about this strange mammal that has long been an object of fantasy and mystery: its universe, its habitat, its habits, its protection…through exhibitions, videos, animal handling and experiments spread over a 300 m2 site. With the help of professional guides, learn to recognise the different species, respect their habitat, observe bats in their own environment, etc. You can try out a variety of educational and fun activities on hand: blind-folds, touch and feel bags, giant ears and lamps – all to help you get to know and love the world of bats, and have fun at the same time. There are special activities and trails for younger visitors.
