Artists have replaced the merchants of the Middle Ages. But the building has retained its period character. Inevitably atypical. The first floor of the museum is devoted to works by Geneviève Asse, an internationally-renowned painter from Brittany, known for her particular use of blue in her monochrome paintings. The permanent exhibition is diverse, with a strong emphasis on modern works from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You'll come across Delacroix's iconic Christ on the Cross....

The permanent exhibition is diverse, with a strong emphasis on modern works from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You'll come across Delacroix's iconic Christ on the Cross. You can also admire the poetic palette of painters who fell in love with Brittany's landscapes and seascapes (Cottet, Peslin, Moret, Frélaut...). Contemporary art is on show on a temporary basis, with frequently changing exhibitions to pique your curiosity. Guided tours, meetings, lectures and creative workshops for the general public are organised throughout the year.
