Building on their passion for botany, members of the Gueguen family travelled the world in search of the most prominent experts in biodiversity. From their worldwide expeditions, they brought back the know-how, the plants and the seeds which enabled them to create a magnificent 45,000 square meter park. Completed in 1981, the botanical garden of Cornouaille (Cornwall), which provides all-year-round colour and scent, is the curator of 4,000 species and varieties from around the world....
Building on their passion for botany, members of the Gueguen family travelled the world in search of the most prominent experts in biodiversity. From their worldwide expeditions, they brought back the know-how, the plants and the seeds which enabled them to create a magnificent 45,000 square meter park. Completed in 1981, the botanical garden of Cornouaille (Cornwall), which provides all-year-round colour and scent, is the curator of 4,000 species and varieties from around the world. Cascades of rhododendrons, azaleas, maples, camellias and hydrangeas open their blooms under a canopy of maritime pines. Further down, exuberant pond lilies, lotus flowers and summer perennials bedeck the banks of the aquatic garden. At the entrance of the garden, the museum of minerals exhibits 1,200 original pieces from the Massif Armoricain, from France and from around the world.
