Seaweed on your table
in Hénon
  • In Hénon, the company Spiruline Armor shows visitors around the workshops where it produces a tropical microalgae with a thousand virtues.

Have you heard of spirulina? This funny little blue algae is renowned for its exceptionally rich nutritional content, synonymous with protein, tonus and detox. The World Health Organisation (WHO) calls it a "superfood"! But do you know how it's grown? From the Tropics to the Côtes d'Armor, Anne and Hervé have acclimatised spirulina to the Breton climate by investing in greenhouses, closed-circuit ponds and a laboratory. At Spiruline Armor, the cyanobacteria are grown on a human-scale farm that respects the environment. Once or twice a week, depending on the season, you can open the doors of the facilities and discover all the stages in the traditional production process - harvesting, filtering, pressing, drying, etc. - right through to packaging. Allow an hour for a guided tour - with videos - to get to the heart of the matter before a tasting in the shop. Would you like a little more seaweed in your fromage frais?
